Climate Change and Resilence of Filipinos
Climate Change and Resilience of Filipinos
Climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. Climate impacts are already harming health, through air pollution, disease, extreme weather events, forced displacement, pressures on mental health, and increased hunger and poor nutrition in places where people cannot grow or find sufficient food.
Based on PAGASA Mean temperatures in all areas in the Philippines are expected to rise by 0.9 C to 1.1 C in 2020 and by 1.8 C to 2.2 C in 2050. Likewise, all seasonal mean temperatures will also have increases in these time slices; and these increases during the four seasons are quite consistent in all parts of the country. Many Filipinos are affected by climate change because many are not prepared for the coming disasters.
We experience strong storms that we don't expect to be flooded so we are affected because we are not prepared for the disasters that will come. We must be prepared at all times because we never know when disasters will strike us , we need to be active and don't forget to protect ourselves. Work together with fellow Filipinos to make each other safe.
