How i spent my Christmas Vacation

Image
My experience during the Christmas holidays was very fun and created many memories. The morning before Christmas I could hear the laughter and voices of my family, they were happily preparing something to cook for noche buena. We also had a great time bonding with our cousins in preparing the sweets we will eat for noche buena. I can see in the eyes of my family that they are very happy because we are together again and bond happily. And of course we will never forget giving blessings to others, there was a small event at our house to make our neighbors happy and help even a little. My uncle gave our neighbors money and it ruffled household items, money and many other things. Many enjoyed it because they even played games and danced. So I can say that I had a happy Christmas because I was with my whole family and we were also able to give a little help to those in need. They say Christmas is about giving love to each other.
REFLECTION         My relfection on Violence Against Women is that we should not hurt women we should protect and care for them. They have the right to be free with everything they want, we shouldn't hurt and beat them. Women have the right to defend themselves, we should not insult and hurt them. Let's stop insulting, hurting and insulting women.  They have the right to protect themselves because they are not like men who can defend themselves against people who abuse them. Violence against women is one of the most frequent human rights violations.  It is a threat to women’s lives, it puts their physical and ps...

Violence against women (VAW) appears as one of the country’s pervasive social problems. According to the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, 17.5% of Filipino women aged 15-49 have experienced any form of physical, sexual, and emotional violence from their intimate partners. As of 2021, there were 8,399 reported cases of physical violence, 1,791 on rape, and 1,505 on acts of lasciviousness. It is alarming that despite addressing the concern, Violence Against Women persists. VAW is deemed to be closely linked with the unequal power relation between women and men, otherwise known as “gender-based violence.”  Societal norms and traditions dictate people think that men are the leaders, pursuers, and providers and take on the dominant roles in society. At the same time, women are the nurturers, men’s companions, and supporters, and they take on subordinate roles in society. This perception leads men to gain more power over...

In 1934 he was a member of the Philippine independence mission to Washington, D.C., headed by Manuel Quezon, which secured the passage in Congress of the Tydings-McDuffie Act, setting the date for Philippine independence as July 4, 1946. He was also elected to the conven...

INDEGENOUS PEOPLE MONTH CELEBRATION In celebration of 2024 Indigenous Peoples Month and the 27th commemoration of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997, the NCIP is gearing up to deepen the country's awareness and understanding of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples. With the theme, "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalan" or "Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge," the month-long festivity underscores key areas that identifies ICCs/Ps, specifically their contributions in agriculture and food security; their culture and customs and traditions woven in their natural environment and ancestral domains; their roles as stewards of our country's land and seas; and their leadership role in nation building.  Part of the activities is a sho...

Climate Change and Resilence of Filipinos

Image
Climate Change and  Resilience of Filipinos Climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. Climate impacts are already harming health, through air pollution, disease, extreme weather events, forced displacement, pressures on mental health, and increased hunger and poor nutrition in places where people cannot grow or find sufficient food.  Based on PAGASA Mean temperatures in all areas in the Philippines are expected to rise by 0.9 C to 1.1 C in 2020 and by 1.8 C to 2.2 C in 2050. Likewise, all seasonal mean temperatures will also have increases in these time slices; and these increases during the four seasons are quite consistent in all parts of the country. Many Filipinos are affected by climate change because many are not prepared for the coming disasters.  W...
